First Asian luxury cruise liner unveiled in China

Tourism

Asia’s first-ever luxury cruise line, Dream Cruises, caters specifically to the large and rapidly growing premium market in Asia, including China. In 2016, Dream Cruises’ 18-deck Genting Dream, one of the largest and most spacious cruise ships in Asia, was launched in Nansha, Guangzhou. To boost online awareness and create social buzz in South China, RF Thunder invited key, influential, top-tier media and social KOLs for a tour of the luxurious liner. The media were impressed by an eclectic array of 35 restaurant and bar concepts, indulging in the very best of Chinese, Asian and international cuisine, with an emphasis on quality and authenticity.  Unique entertainment facilities on board included two luxury submersibles, the largest Asian Spa at sea, featuring 80 reflexology thrones and offering food service, a 999-seat Zodiac theatre with the latest cinematic and sound technology, as well as a live fireworks display. As a result of the coverage, the brand has become a hot topic in the region. In the first month after inauguration, reservations for the Genting Dream have resulted in fully booked cruises. Her official maiden voyage from her homeport of Nansha late in 2016 also helped drive momentum for the cruise industry development in Guangzhou.
