AstraZeneca China launches ‘We AstraZeneca-ers’ Initiative

AstraZeneca (AZ), a global biopharmaceutical company, has 29 offices in major cities in mainland China, 10,000+ employees, and wanted to use WeChat to achieve their three goals of “dissemination of corporate culture”, “enhancement of staff cohesion” and “enterprise information integration synergies” to reach its diverse departments and staff members. In 2015, RF Thunder helped AZ China create and implement an internal WeChat Enterprise “We AstraZeneca-ers”, highlighting “we are together for the common AstraZeneca” and the three concepts, “we share”, “we ask”, “we express” ran throughout the program and all follow-up activities. We focused on the three communication modes – “open, interaction and communication” to create an interactive and informative internal communication platform. August to December, 249 WeChat push messages had 2000+ average readings, 120,000 highest monthly readings and 30,000+ highest reading maximum for a single WeChat. Popular online activities included “Talk to the mogul” and “AZs dare to be proud”. The readings for “Send blessings on Mid-Autumn Festival H5” exceeded 40,000 immediately, rising to 51,203 during the five-day festival, an average of 1.8 times per employee. December 1-30, “AZs, dare to be proud” drew 240,000+ readings, 60,000+ visitors, and 131 visitor photo uploads, an average of 4x per viewer.
