China CITIC Bank, Cathay Pacific and Air Miles launched co-branded credit cards

With the rapid increase in Chinese outbound travellers and their demand for a high-end lifestyle, China CITIC Bank collaborated with Cathay Pacific Airlines, flag carrier of Hong Kong, and Asia Miles, Asia’s leading travel and lifestyle rewards programme, to launch two joint credit cards. CITIC Bank aimed to attract and reach consumers who not only care about economic benefits, but also require a premiere lifestyle, including travel. RF Thunder delivered an integrated communication plan and launch event with the slogan “Boundless road, infinite world”. The event, which opened with a dance performance, was set in a venue decorated with high-end lifestyle elements.  Invited media included financial and economic journalists, travel and lifestyle media, to cover the announcement from their different perspectives. After the event, an online communication campaign released features about the co-brand announcement that were distributed to digital platforms and influential social accounts, including KOL collaboration. Within a month, 622 articles were generated in print and online. The online campaign covered more than two million consumers and received high recognition, which greatly promoted the credit cards and increased the application rate.
